SailFish Browser Assistant — Privacy Policy

1. Scope

This policy applies to the SailFish Browser Assistant browser extension (Chromium and Firefox). The Extension is a companion to the SailFish desktop app and does not work on its own.

2. Summary

• Current design: the Extension talks to SailFish on your computer via Native Messaging for browser tasks you start.
• Our commitment: we do not sell your data, use it for ads or cross-site tracking, or misuse page data beyond your Agent tasks.
• Page content is accessed only when you run a browser task through SailFish (not for background profiling).
• If data practices change, we will update this policy and seek consent where required.

3. Data the Extension may access

When you use attach mode in SailFish, the Extension may access on your active tab:

URL and title	List tabs, navigate, provide context to the Agent
DOM structure / text	Let the Agent understand the page
Buttons, links, inputs	Perform clicks and typing you request

We do not collect this data in the background for ads, profiling, or analytics.

4. How data flows

In the current version, these steps run on your device. We do not operate an Extension-owned cloud service to collect or store your browsing data.

What happens after data reaches SailFish (e.g. your configured AI provider) is governed by SailFish and that provider. Optional remote features in future versions will be described here before they take effect.

5. Permissions

6. Our commitments

• We will not sell your data
• We will not use Extension data for ads or cross-site tracking
• We will not misuse page data for purposes beyond browser automation you request
• We will not collect such data in the background when you are not running a browser task (current design)

7. Retention and your choices

In the current version, data stays in browser memory and local extension storage; no Extension-operated remote database.

You may uninstall the Extension anytime, skip Native Host install, or use SailFish launch mode without the Extension.

8. Children and changes

The Extension is not directed at children under 13. We may update this policy when practices change; material data-handling changes will be described in the updated policy.
